Unlocking Creativity: Midwest Interior Design Competition 2024




Interior design isn't just about aesthetics—it's about creating spaces that tell stories, evoke emotions, and enhance lives. The Midwest Interior Design Competition 2024 is a celebration of innovation, creativity, and craftsmanship in interior design. Open to interior designers, architects, builders, and students, this design contest offers a platform for talents to shine without the requirement of ASID membership.

Notably, the competition doesn't just offer recognition; it presents an opportunity of a lifetime. The Grand Prize—a trip to Paris for two—beckons as the ultimate reward for the project with the highest overall score. This extraordinary journey includes attending Maison & Objet, one of the world's premier design exhibitions, from September 5-9, 2024. From exploring the latest trends to networking with global industry leaders, this experience promises to inspire and elevate the winner's design perspective.

Qualifications for Submission

To be eligible, projects must have been completed between January 1, 2021, and March 31, 2024, and be located within Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, or Arkansas.

Categories

Entries can be submitted under two categories: Residential and Commercial.

- Residential:

- Single-family homes (new build or whole home remodel)

- Single-use spaces (bedrooms, living rooms, offices, walk-in closets, outdoor spaces)

- Kitchens

- Bathrooms

- Commercial:

- Hospitality & Retail

- Corporate & Wellness spaces

Entry Fees

- Participants are required to pay a $100 entry fee per project, with a maximum of three entries per participant.

- For students, the entry fee is reduced to $50 per project.

- Multiple projects in one category are not allowed.

- Graduates may submit projects up to 1 year after graduation.

Judging

Judges will be randomly selected from the ASID national pool and will use a points-based system, with a maximum of 100 points possible.

Winners and Awards

- There will be one winner per category, each receiving a $1000 cash prize.

- Additionally, the project with the highest overall score will be awarded the Grand Prize—a trip to Paris for two people to attend Maison & Objet from September 5-9, 2024.

- Winners will be announced at the MWDAFF-2024 Industry Party on May 10, 2024.

Additional Information

- Only one project across all categories will win the trip.

- Projects from the "Student" category are not eligible for the Grand Prize.

- The Grand Prize includes two round-trip economy tickets from Kansas City to Paris, a 4-night stay at a hotel, and two admission tickets to Maison & Objet.

- All other expenses are the responsibility of the winner.
